my favourite things/ old moon new moon

a day can change so quickly
I see it best by the night sky

our old moon lay waning
a short time ago
a cresent sliver
tilted
emptying itself
then simply gone
I was enjoying God's glory
doing my usual counting
of His endless stars
seeing how far I must count
before my heart
was too full

I never count far
before my praises to Him
replace my 1-2-3's
and they become endless
these praises
to Him

my heart
becomes filled
and with the filling
becomes lighter

not sure how that can be
but it is so

now time has become
tilted in the night sky
the new moon
a cresent glowing
the sliver growing
sits cupped to hold

God's glory

It took me over fifty years
to see the difference in the
old and the new
I somehow feel
like angel dust has enlightened me
given this new joy
to see the difference

perhaps others have known it all along

for me this newness
is a simple joy
and a smile
from the One
who walks with me
and makes the blessing
spill out

I am there to catch it

holding your hand, whispering encouragement, showing you step-by-step how to live well before God, who called us into his own kingdom, into this delightful life.

 Blue dog herding me

 shelter out of the snow

 leaning on the Everlasting Arms

 'snowball' fight did someone say... I have mine with me

 can't see a thing

 can you fathom the workings of His hand

 if it is too hard for me... yet will I always praise His name

 early in the morning will I seek Thee

 in the evening You will still be found

 if I hide~ in the hen-house... You will still find me

 I love Your presence O Lord

 You blow with Your wind and the ice melts

 You give shelter

 some trust in horses... some in chariots
 though I give Rudy hugs... I will trust in You O Lord

how could I ever say, where can I flee from Your presence?
my soul cries out for You

 You give the birds shelter

You give the forest sleep

 Your Word is a Light in the midst of a storm

 you give food

 We give thanks

 Your Spirit moves upon the water

I listen for Your voice

 You sent out the doves... Your eye is on the sparrow

 a joyful heart is good medicine

You give friendship

 fellowship

 forsake not the gathering together

with God, you are never alone

 you may feel small and incidental...but God sees you

 Spring will come

 His mercies come as we wait patiently for them

 He will be your hiding place

 He will be Living Water

 give Him your burdens

seek Him

 You will find Him... when you seek for Him with all your heart

 He will bring peace to your souls

 His love will cover a multitude of sins

 He watches for you to come Home

 He waits for you

 He longs for you

 though storms may come

 He will always be your shelter

your Refuge

 His tender mercies

 are new every morning

 Great is His faithfulness

 His lovingkindness ever present

 as far as the east

 is from the west

 He covers... He heals

 He is the Light that lighteneth every man

 He casts away every shadow

 He will lead you in the path everlasting

 new life in Him

peace in Him

  a conscience clear in Him

burdens carried in Him

  sin covered in Him

Heaven's gate opened in Him

joy

 and fellowship evermore

 come all ye that are heavy laden

 come all ye that are searching

 you that are tired

 you that have been waiting

 come

 Jesus said, In my Father's house there are many rooms

 I go to prepare a place for you

 that where I am

 there you may be also

 no more sorrow

 no more pain

 no more tears

 I stand at the door and knock

 if anyone hear My voice and open the door

 I will come in to him and sup with him and he with Me

for those who look for Me

with all their heart

 really look for Me

 really and truly
