my favourite things/ pure religion and undefiled

Going to W.A.R. « A Seed Inspired

James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the orphans and the widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

my heart was burdened
my eyes wet and I could not see
for all the pain
so many bear

and then I saw this W.A.R.
going on
and through the pain
and tears
saw hope
that they are not all forgotten

hearts touched by God's love
touched by God's grace
hearts not afraid
to see
and feel
and hurt
and weep
and reach out... and help

I am going to W.A.R.

that there might be P.E.A.C.E.
for these

the afflicted

Father... send your Word
and deliver
and heal
and build up again

bring hope

my favourite things

  1. Counterfeit religion is deadly . . . but "pure religion and undefiled" brings life, comfort, hope and peace. Beautiful, Susan!

  3. Dear Susan,

This trafficking is on one of the lowest wrungs on the ladders of hell. It takes the wisdom of Solomon, the experience of Methuselah and the daring of David to topple this sewer. I belong to an organization of just such Godly people and they are bringing the traffickers to justice. Check out the International Justice Mission to see that dents can be made in this deep darkness.

Right after I went to A Seed Inspired yesterday on your prompt, I went to another site "just because" they posted after me at Ann's yesterday
    http://oneroofafrica.blogspot.com/2008/10/who-are-we.html
It was there that I read about this same subject from a whole different perspective. I think the Palmer family can really use our prayers so I am posting this to you, Dear Susan. I know your heart for the Lord, for Africa, for adoption and for healing, and you have readers with the same hearts so I post my request here.

I know you will join me.
    Much love,
    Dawn

  5. Dawn, I read the post you led me to from oneroofafrica and was very saddened for the Palmer family.
For exactly this reason my daughter has been asked by a lawyer in Pretoria to go to high courts in SA to help amend the child adoption laws so that they become in the best interests of the child, so that infants need not wait 'years' before going to their forever families. They believe that her case holds strong and that it will benefit the infants and the many families trying to make a difference in the lives of these children.
Orphanages should see tlc.org.za as a model in protecting the children and preparing them for their new families. A blessed safe haven it is.
thank you Dawn for sharing and I will keep Palmers in my prayers.
