my favourite things/the last of the old year

the last of the old year
is sliding away
like children
at play in snow
from one hill
to another

all good
this old year
with lessons learned
friendships forged
memories stored
laughter shared
tears shed
healing found

all good
this old year

God's brightness
given for each day
to lead us on
and give us hope
along our way

shared blessings
work and holidays

always time
to praise
God's Son
who made all this
for our delight
our fun

and labour too
with smiles be fought
for it's a gift
this strength
from  God

time for play
and adventure
we always find

 I'm thankful for my man
 the beauty of the land

 I'm thankful for my son
 the puppies
my goats...
so much to be thankful for
old year you have been kind
and dear

God's helped us brave each unknown day

 given grace along our way

You've set a peace within our lives

 led us on our way
 given rest
brought us joy
and by your Word You have settled our hearts our minds and souls
to know that wherever 2012 will lead
it is a gift from Your dear hand

I pray our lives would honour You
and to the least of all we meet
that we might bless
as if it's Thee

so we look to the new

and I thank you Lord
for the last of the old year

my favourite things

  1. Beautiful - love all the pictures of winter's splendor. Today we have a hot +30 degree day. Sun's delight, oh such contrast between your glory and mine:)

  2. I was thinking of that Shoshi while I was posting this! Such extremes! I look forward to making snow angels and snow men and forts with your precious ones, one day!
Come summer, instead we will seek out froggies together and take them for wagon rides; we will play with baby goats and ride ponies... and maybe fight off mosquitoes :)

  3. Beautiful reflection on the passing year . . . beautiful words, beautiful pictures. Happy New Year, Susan and Eduardo. I pray God's blessing on your family, your home, your land and livestock, the work or your hands and the desires of your heart.

  4. Thanks Andrea... maybe we will share some days :)

  5. It was good to see your land, your house, your stable, your goats, pups and horses. It was good seeing your family and all that snow. It was just plain good being with you this year and it will continue to be so as we travel this new year together in His grace.

    Much love,

  6. Dawn... it will be a bountiful year !
As He says... His grace is sufficient! Smiling with you!

  7. Wow! That is a lot of snow! And some beautiful photos of it! Those first two are particularly postcards!

Thank you for your visit and comments to my blogs! I'll be sure to check out your daughter's adventures in South Africa!
