my favourite things / just wondering

wondering about all this glory tonight
in the clearness and quietness
of the midnight sky

Your glory Lord
so unfading
unending
so whole
my soul
always satisfied

in Thee alone
O Lord
I rest

I revive
I energize
I lift praises
I exalt You

I never tire
with You
in this place

the sky is bright tonight Lord
each star I see
I pray You keep my heart clear like this night sky
nothing clouding Your will
for me

keep me O Lord
on Your steadfast path
and like the good Samaritan
give me purse and desire
to bless those flogged
upon my way
to uphold the weary
bind up their wounds
and always
return to bless
with Your sweet grace

it is enough this grace

wondering about all this glory tonight
in the clearness and quietness
of the midnight sky

keep my heart so clear O Lord

  1. I said to my husband, "Would you look up the word in the Greek for glory and tell me exactly what it means because Romans 3:23 says, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." What is it we fall short of? holiness? I'm investigating, Susan, and then I come here and you are writing about His glory in the midnight sky. We were thinking about the same thing (indifferent ways, but the same thing).

    I loved this part the very best:

    give me purse and desire
    to bless those flogged
    upon my way

    How DO you come up with these magnificent phrases? I must have read this a dozen times. It became a prayer and made me think of that wonderful hymn "O Zion Haste"

    Give of thy sons to bear the message glorious;
    Give of thy wealth to speed them on their way;
    Pour out thy soul for them in prayer victorious;
    O Zion, haste to bring the brighter day.

    O, Susan, Grandma to Wyatt and Dearest Friend to me, I am so glad we can meet together day by day. Love you!

    1. Dawn there is a brightness cast by my smile each time I feel the warmth of your visits... how can a soul be so encouraged... this part no man sees yet is our very essence...
      Though we do not see God, yet we know of a surity that He is near!
      Though I can not see you my friend, I feel you very close!

      I love, "O Zion Haste"...Our very breath of life is moment by moment from Him!
      Imagine... when we see Him face to face ... our Desire fulfilled

  2. Ps 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

    What an absolutely beautiful message.
