my favourite things/ the old year

this life so blessed
this year so deep and wide
filled to overflowing
with gratefulness

2013

a new grandbaby
a wedding
a new son
three more grandbabas
such blessed and happy children
hearts overflowing

a house that love built
a son
a carpenter son

building a home to bless

God has given contented hearts
Godliness with contentment is great joy

I see this
and my smile is very broad

Grace has been given so abundantly
This God gift
I stand in awe

this old year

  1. Are you ready to begin again? I love that we have a calendar of days with 'begin again' slots marked off so we are reminded to stop and renew ourselves. This New Year's Day eve is the place slotted to take us back over a slice of time called 2013. Yours was BIG, Susan, and I am so glad I got to share it all through cyberspace. Incredible unfoldings like ripples from a central rock: your children and their lives spilling into the world from the solid home base from which they launched. You gave them to the Lord and He gets the glory. I know you don't mind that. It is what you live for. I hear your heart beating as I read each line...sometimes it races and sometimes it quiets. Happy New Year!

    1. My dear Dawn, We have launched into 2013 trusting our God saw the beginning from the end and knowing He is 'good', and that His Grace aboundeth. I love the unfolding, how He strengthens with joy and builds courage through the hard and, always, His tender mercies are new every morning.
His heart beats with ours dear friend~ like little children, let us enter His kingdom joy, day by day... to bring encouragement to those around us, and to share His Abba heart with those He brings our way. A very blessed 2014 to you and Russ and your beloveds
